
Abdelhak is a dual-qualified lawyer, holding a Master of Law in International Trade from Northumbria University, UK, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Maritime Law from London Metropolitan University, UK. He also holds an Undergraduate Degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He has combined technical and legal knowledge, in addition to having extensive expertise in both civil and common law legal systems. Abdelhak handles UAE litigation and arbitration rules of various arbitration institutions related to commercial matters, ship finance, ship building, multimodal carriage of goods, international sales of goods, marine insurance, shop arrest and enforcement of foreign judgements and arbitration awards within the Emirates.
Abdelhak has been practicing law in the UAE since 2009, establishing firm roots in the shipping industry and acting as a trusted advisor to a range of CEOs, General Counsels, and shipping industry insiders. He uses his expertise to find solutions, negotiate deals and develop commercial trust.
Abdelhak is recognized by Chambers and Partners Global and Legal 500. He authored the UAE chapter of Chambers Global Enforcement of Judgements Practice Guide in 2021 and 2022. He was elected as a Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) and listed as Evaluator on the LMAA Early Neutral Evaluation Scheme.
